How Do Our Clinics Work?
After you make an appointment to bring your pet to a spay/neuter clinic, what then?
Several days prior to your scheduled appointment you will receive a letter detailing arrival time and providing instructions for preparing your pet for surgery.
Dog Check in
Check in for dogs is between 8:00 and 830 am. Dogs must be on leashes.
After completing the required paperwork you will be given an approximate time for pick up that evening. Pick up times vary according to the surgery schedule and may be approximate.
Following surgery and post-operative recovery, the veterinarian will release your pet to go home.
At the time of discharge you will receive your pet’s medical record, discharge forms and rabies certificate if applicable. You will be told what to expect over the next few days as your pet recovers from surgery. You will be informed of any conditions or medical issues identified during exam or surgery which may require treatment or follow up with a local veterinarian.
* Payment is expected at the time of service. Cash or check is preferred.
Cat Check in
Check in for cats is between 7:30 and 8:00am. Owned cats must be in individual carriers – hard plastic sided carriers are preferred – soft sided carriers or cardboard boxes are not suitable for post-surgical recovery.
Feral cats are to arrive in traps, covered with sheets, blankets or towels.
If you do not have a carrier or trap, please contact the Spay/Neuter Coordinator at 607-594-2255 to make arrangements to borrow one.
