Rabies Clinic Schedule
Please PAWS to PREVENT Rabies
Vaccinating pets, like dogs, cats, and ferrets, is one of the best ways to prevent people from getting rabies. It is also required by law in New York State.1 Our department helps prevent the spread of rabies by providing no-cost public Rabies Clinics each year.
See the table below for this year’s rabies clinic schedule.
For our clinics:
- Please bring proof of any prior rabies shots.
- For cats and dogs: their first rabies vaccine will be a one-year vaccine. All vaccines after that will be three-year vaccines, as long as proof of prior rabies shot is provided.
- For ferrets: vaccination is required every year.
- Animals must be at least 3 months of age.
- All cats and ferrets must be securely confined in a pet carrier. One pet per carrier.
- All dogs must be on a leash or securely confined.
- Please only bring as many animals to the clinic as you are able to control. All pets must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is able to hold the pet during vaccination.
Vaccination is provided at no cost. Donations are appreciated.
